Go Where You’ve Never Gone Before

My aunt is a professor and one of the courses she teaches involves Cultural Development, which means traveling to places outside of the USA and learning about that country’s culture.

She had the chance to travel to Rwanda twice and this year she’s doing a double-whammy…she’s organizing a class trip to Rwanda AND China. Since she’s low on budget, she asked me to help design these fliers. Click on both (PDF docs) and read the info.

I’m not sure if you have to live in New York or attend the school she’s at, but if you’re interested to learn about the trips and more, let me know and I’ll find out, or feel free to ask her yourself on the contact information provided on both fliers.

A Road Trip to a Wedding in Canada

It was only for a weekend and so my aunt, two cousins, and I packed up what we could and headed on our 9 hour trip by car to Mississauga, Ontario in Canada.

We got hungry, so decided to stop by the first place that caught our eyes.

Back on the road, we saw lots of trees and mountains…

Even, humvees…

We stopped for gas once, bathroom breaks twice and eventually made it to the border…

Hello Ontario, Canada!

We were so happy to see our final destination…

It was nice to be welcomed…

The next day, we made our way to the church…

just in time to see the bride make her way to the platform…

After the ceremony, everyone headed to the convention center where we signed our congrats to the newlyweds…

I got carried away and took a few pictures…

Into the evening, we ate (buffet style) and were well entertained…

Then, we toasted the bride and groom, they cut the cake and said their thanks…

We went back to the hotel by 11 p.m.; heard the party wasn’t over till 1:30 a.m.! The next morning, we stopped by to visit some family members…

Then, we stopped for gas (which was 99.4 cents per liter or about $4 per gallon). We decided to get most of the gas back in USA where the price was cheaper.

Upon our return, it took us an hour to get through to customs, then stopped to get something to eat twice, and finally got home by 3 in the morning. I was exhausted, but looking back at these pictures reminded me of the fun my family and I had on our road trip. Next one will be to British Columbia, or so I wish : ).
